Canadian Tire Garden Centre is open! |
How I felt...
Tonight's WOD (Workout Of the Day) was better than the other day. Nothing feels better than stretching at the end of a good workout when your muscles are all warm. The crab arm is finally gone thanks to some new stretches I was taught tonight.
Our trainer's name is Alex, he keeps track of our reps and the time it takes to complete the WOD. He doesn't put up with my whining, which I've been doing a lot. There's a great group of people here at The Martial Centre, it's a welcoming atmosphere. Plus, doesn't it feel great to walk into a place where they all know your name and track your progress every time you come in?
So how did I do?
A quick warm up of two laps around the centre (approx. 400 m) and 20 Kettlebell Swings with a 15 lb weight.
My heart was pumping and it was time for the main event. I never thought I'd say the words "Sumo dead lifts", but here I am. This was a little more controlled that the kettle bell swings and we used a 30 lb kettebell weight. On to Kettlebell Thrusts, with two 15 lb weights, which is all in your momentum. Chin Ups, and Plank Curves were also all to be done 20 times each, three rounds.
That's right, a total of:
- 60 Kettlebell Thrusts with two 15 lb weights
- 60 Chin Ups (still modified)
- 60 Plank Curves
- 60 Sumo Dead Lifts with a 30 lb weight
- 20 Warm up Kettlebell Swings
It's going to be a busy few days now, I'm having a garage sale Saturday morning and planning a Birthday BBQ fundraiser in support of the NWT SPCA next week. I have a few days now before the next WOD on Sunday.
Have a great weekend!
